Skanska USA promotes Matt McCaffrey to Vice President – Project Executive

San Antonio, TX – Skanska USA, one of the world’s leading construction and development firms, announced today that Matt McCaffrey has been promoted to vice president – project executive.

McCaffrey, an industry veteran with 18 years of experience, joined Skanska in 2003 as an intern and most recently served as a project executive. Matt has successfully led several high-profile projects across Texas, including Bank of America Tower in Houston and City Tower in San Antonio. Matt’s previous experience also includes multiple projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in San Antonio. In this new role, he will oversee Skanska’s projects in downtown San Antonio.

“Since joining Skanska, Matt has demonstrated great leadership, particularly from a commercial and contractual perspective,” said Ryan Aalsma, executive vice president and general manager for Skanska’s San Antonio and Austin construction operations. “Throughout his career, Matt has demonstrated diligence, dedication and commitment to continuous improvement. We welcome him into this role and look forward to his contributions as we expand our construction operations locally.”

McCaffrey holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in Construction Management from Lawrence Tech University. McCaffrey is a registered Professional Engineer, LEED AP certified and WELL AP certified. He is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE) mentoring program and the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects (i-LinCP). At Skanska, McCaffrey is a subject matter expert in the Design Build Council and a member of the Escalation and Supply Chain team. He currently resides with his wife and children in San Antonio.
