Underpinning managed the construction of a 120,000 square foot FedEx Ground Distribution Facility.

The new facility is bound on two sides by the Maspeth Creek and Newtown Creek Waterways, both of which are EPA designated superfund sites. The foundation for the new structure consists of closed end steel pipe piles, driven to a depth of 80 feet below ground surface. Underpinning worked closely with the client and geotechnical engineer to complete the load testing program and install the driven piles on schedule and under budget.

A total of 880 piles were installed for the project utilizing Junttan piling rigs equipped with hydraulic impact hammers.
