L300 project team prioritizes the environment during recent foreman training
Our Lynwood Link Extension (L300) project in Mountlake Terrace, Washington will allow riders to enjoy light rail service between south Snohomish County and the University of Washington, downtown Seattle, the Eastside, Sea-Tac Airport and other areas.
Due to the several fish bearing waterways adjacent to this project, safety and environmental protection are high priorities during construction.
The L300 project team hosts weekly onsite foreman trainings and environmental coordination meetings to address issues that have arisen.
During Earth Week, Skanska and Sound Transit team members visited the Lynwood Fish Hatchery and Environmental Education Center to learn about local waterways and release 1,800 coho salmon smolt into Hall Lake.
This allowed our teams to gain a better understanding of the fish and wildlife in the streams adjacent to our L300 project.
