Spreading over 19.2 acres, the site is located between Westchester Creek, Hutchinson River Parkway, and the Bruckner Expressway. Due to the size of the project, there were multiple challenges to overcome while installing the foundation elements. One challenge was varying rock conditions across the site, leading to a variety of driving criteria for the pipe piles based on their location. Planning was key to allow for a smooth transition from one area to the next. Our team assisted in the advancement of the build schedule through consistent communication with the general contractor, enabling ongoing construction of pile caps while Underpinning was on site driving remaining piles.
Did you know?
There were 2,975 driven pipe piles installed, ranging from 55-130 feet long. In addition to the piles, there were 98 rock anchors installed.
