This course serves as an elective towards the training requirements for individuals applying for a Site Safety Training Card, required under NYC Local Law 196.

Through instructor-led training with interactive activities, you will be educated in the following course content:

1. An introduction to become generally familiar with plans and site safety plans.

The course serves as refresher training for Site Safety Managers and Site Safety Coordinators as a prerequisite to renew their respective NYC DOB certificates. The course all provides new learners an overview of the requirements of NYC Chapter 33 and earn credits towards the New York City Site Safety Training (SST) Card -- required under Local Law 196.

Through classroom lecture, discussion, and audio-visual presentation the learner will be educated in the following course content:

1. An introduction to Site Safety Management, including the roles of the Site Safety Manager, Construction Superintendent, Concrete Safety Manager, and Fire Safety Manager
2. Review of construction site accidents, including common causes, statistics, case studies, and methods of hazard control and incident prevention

5. Review of the Four Hazards for the 10 Hour OSHA Course and applicable subparts

10. Safety protocols for concrete, standpipe inspection, cranes and derricks, supported/suspended scaffolds and sheds

5. Review of the nature of gravity, weight, acceleration, mass, force, tension, and angle - all as components that contribute to fall hazards
6. Components, specifications, and regulatory requirements of fall controls
7. Struck-by and fall-to-the-same level controls
8. With interactive activities, describe components, specifications, and regulatory requirements (including NYC Chapter 33) of fall protection systems
9. Components of a prompt rescue plan
