Skanska was the first construction company in the U.S. to become both OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certified.
The OHSAS 18001 framework requires us to maintain an internally and externally audited safety management system that complies with the law, our own standards, client requirements and, most importantly, a focus on constant, continual improvement.
Our ISO 14001 certification represents Skanska’s commitment to consistent environmental performance and continuous improvement. We run our jobsites using sustainable principles tailored to the needs of each project, with third-party verification. Skanska’s ISO 14001 certification program has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council.
For each project, we develop and implement a site-specific Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) manual and plan for the safety of all those associated with the project on a daily basis.
