Skanska USA Building Inc. announced that it, in conjunction with its client, General Services Administration (GSA), proudly dedicated the new headquarters office complex of the United States Census Bureau in Suitland, Maryland. Skanska’s design-build partner and architect on this project was HKS, a nationally-recognized design firm that has worked with Skanska on more than twenty projects. The massive 1.4 million square feet of buildings and 1 million square feet of parking garages were designed and constructed in 39 months. Of the approximately 6,000 employees that will reside in the new headquarters, over 3,000 have moved in and the balance will move in by Christmas. The $307 million project is a cornerstone of redevelopment in the Washington, D.C. suburb.
