Skanska USA Civil Southeast has been awarded a $41 million contract from Hampton Roads Transit to perform construction services, as part of a future light rail system known as The Tide. When completed, the system will extend over seven miles from the Eastern Virginia Medical Center through downtown Norfolk and travel adjacent to Interstate 264.
