Skanska hires McMullen as Western Region VP for Environment, Health & Safety

Skanska USA announced that it has hired Jennifer McMullen as Vice President – Environment, Health & Safety for its western region building operations. In this role, she will be oversee EHS for Skanska USA Building in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington. She will be based in the company’s Oakland office.

A Certified Professional Ergonomist, McMullen comes to Skanska with more than 15 years of experience in EHS with Fortune 500 firms, most recently with Intel, where she served as Construction EHS Manager. Additionally, McMullen’s resume includes eight years as an EHS consultant, and Safety & Ergonomics Manager for John Deere. She writes and speaks frequently on safety and ergonomics issues, both for businesses and consumers.
 
“Jennifer’s experience in areas such as Lean Construction and Six Sigma demonstrate a skill set and innovative spirit that will empower our western EHS group with the tools needed to provide industry-leading service to our project management teams and craft workers,” said Skanska USA Chief EHS Officer Hendrik Van Brenk. “We are excited for her to join our team.”

McMullen holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering from the University of Tennessee. She and her three children are relocating to the Bay Area from Portland, Ore.

Skanska is under way on projects throughout the region, with projects within markets such as healthcare, higher education, aviation, transportation, commercial office, industrial and K-12.
