Skanska USA announced today the promotion of Paul Hewins to co-chief operating officer overseeing Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware and Pennsylvania for Skanska USA Building.  Additionally, Kerim Evin moves into Hewins’ previous role as executive vice president and general manager of Skanska USA Building’s New England region.

Hewins has spent 28 years in the construction industry with 14 of those at Skanska. He led the New England operations through a period of significant and consistent growth and was instrumental in guiding Skanska’s work with Novartis’ Cambridge campus, as well as Harvard Business School’s Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center in Allston.

Evin brings more than 27 years of construction experience to his new position. During his 18 years with Skanska, most recently as vice president of operations for Skanska USA Building in Boston, Evin played key roles in the Harvard Art Museum’s renovation and expansion project in Cambridge, and the construction of the 37-story State Street Financial Center office tower in Boston.

“Both Paul and Kerim are well-known for their tremendous knowledge of the New England region and are widely respected for their construction expertise,” said Bill Flemming, president & CEO of Skanska USA Building. “Over the years they have thoughtfully grown Skanska’s footprint here, achieving the best possible results for our clients and improving the communities in which we work.”
Both Hewins and Evin will remain headquartered in the Boston office. Hewins lives in Hingham, Mass., with his wife, son and daughter. Evin lives in Easton, Mass., with his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
