LOS ANGELES, CA – Skanska last week celebrated the topping out of 9000 Wilshire, a new office development designed to enhance the productivity and well-being of a creative workforce in the heart of Beverly Hills. The 50,000 square foot, four-story building is the team’s first office development in Los Angeles.

The Honorable Mayor Lili Bosse, Vice Mayor Julian Gold M.D., Councilmember John Mirisch, and City Manager George Chavez of the City of Beverly Hills joined representatives from Skanska at 9000 Wilshire to commemorate this construction milestone. The final steel beam was signed by those in attendance and then moved into place on the top floor.

“Today we celebrate a new, innovative development, that will be energy efficient and sustainable,” said Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse. “We value a healthy city and are impressed with the quality work environment that Skanska has envisioned for Beverly Hills. We look forward to seeing the completion of 9000 Wilshire.”

9000 Wilshire integrates innovation and performance based on the foundation of intelligent efficiency with a commitment to local and global ecologies. Designed by Neil M. Denari Architects & HLW, the building will include flexible floorplates, outdoor workspaces, operable windows, and epic views from the rooftop deck. Bicycle parking and up to 31 electric vehicle charging stations will be available on-site to accommodate various types of transportation methods. The building will also feature public art by California-based fine artist Heather Day.

“9000 Wilshire is Skanska Commercial Development’s project in California,” said Clare De Briere, Executive Vice President and Regional Manager for Skanska USA Commercial Development’s Los Angeles region. “We are excited to have this first project fully exemplify Skanska’s core values. This will be the most sustainable office building in Beverly Hills, with a priority placed on the experience of our customers, from both a health and wellness perspective, as well as from a design perspective. We believe that the incorporation of art as integral to the design, and also gives something back to the community here in Beverly Hills.”

Sustainably designed and constructed, 9000 Wilshire has achieved WiredScore® Platinum and is pursuing LEED® Platinum and targeting Fitwel® certification. It will incorporate touchless technology and feature industry-leading MERV 13 filters to enhance indoor air quality and efficiency, meeting the new standards of health and safety spurred by the pandemic.

“I’m thrilled to see this exciting first partnership with our Commercial Development team in Los Angeles near completion,” said Gordon Childress, Executive Vice President - General Manager, Skanska USA Building. “It is part of our mission in this region, and firm-wide, to implement sustainable practices and materials throughout our projects. We are particularly proud of the sustainable construction aspects included in 9000 Wilshire, namely our EC3 tool, which enables users to estimate and reduce the embodied carbon in building materials, allowing us to prioritize sustainability from the onset.”

Skanska anticipates delivery of 9000 Wilshire in Q3 2022.
