A new location that connects us with communities

A few words from EVP & GM Gordon Childress on our new location

To all in the Bay Area communities we serve,

Over the past 10 years, we’ve been fortunate to build some of the coolest projects in many of our Bay Area communities, from neighborhood health clinics in San Francisco, manufacturing and tech facilities on the Peninsula, student housing in the Dog Patch, transportation hubs in the heart of San Francisco, healing spaces in Oakland and so many more. Along the way, we’ve given back to the communities where we work and live, too. Even with a Swedish name, Skanska is proudly local, with a team that not only knows the area, but also shares the diversity of backgrounds that make Northern California a place where the greatest ideas can flourish.

Now, we’ve reached a new exciting milestone: we’ve moved our office to 1 California St. in San Francisco. Our new office is steps from the Ferry, BART and MUNI, a quick trip to the Peninsula and San Jose via CalTrain and close to Marin County and the East Bay. Here, we are at the epicenter of connectivity to our customers and employees.

As a company, our commitment to customers is always our first priority. We work collaboratively and in close partnership with our design, engineering and trade partners to deliver the most value for our customers — enabling new possibilities for them and their stakeholders. To do this, we need to be accessible.

We also want to be the company of choice for the Bay Area’s top talent. So, we are focused on flexibility — offering employees the support they need to balance their busy work schedules with the things that are important to them out of the office. Our new office offers our employees easy access to amenities like a wellness room, healthy food, fitness centers and public transportation. Our new location fully unlocks the potential for our people to be healthy and productive while balancing life and work.

We look forward to what the next decade will bring for our business and for the San Francisco Bay Area. As we get settled into our new address, we look forward to partnering with you to build what matters.
