Overcoming the most challenging period of escalation in modern history, the Eight guaranteed maximum price (GMP) was delivered by our Seattle team to Skanska USA Commercial Development (CDUS) in July 2021. Our team put the bow on the largest CDUS/Skanska USA Building (USB) GMP—$270 million—since CDUS began operating in 2009. This brought the total value under contract to over $283 million, including preconstruction and early works contracts.

After a multi-year design and planning effort, the Georgia World Congress Center Hotel GMP was delivered. With support from team members in operations, preconstruction and other groups, our Atlanta team put the bow on a major GMP change order in June 2021, bringing the project GMP total to $326 million.

Imagine Clearwater Park, located in downtown Clearwater, Florida, is a $70 million new park project that will replace the existing, smaller Coachman Park. Starting with a target value design in fall 2019, our Project Planning Services group worked together with the operations team, Stantec (the design team), Stantec’s consultants and the City of Clearwater for over two years of preconstruction services.

Skanska began working on this project in 2018—providing cost, schedule and logistical feedback on a number of different master plan scenarios. We were selected for preconstruction services in summer 2020, beginning our formal collaboration with Bon Secours and the design team, led by Gresham Smith.
