Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)

Skanska’s values—Be Better Together, Act Ethically and Transparently, Commit to Customers and Care for Life—are deeply engrained in how we work, which is why our values support and drive our D&I efforts. We are on a D&I journey that is ongoing. It is a journey of continuous improvement—while we have come a long way, we still have more to go.

Skanska in the U.S. has three business units represented; anchored to people, culture and community. Read below to hear more about each business unit’s D&I approach and strategy.

USA Building

Skanska USA Building is committed to an inclusive culture that respects our people, builds strong teams and enhances performance. Our strategy primarily focuses on our people, culture and communities. This includes building a solid foundation that enables sustainable change and upholding an inclusive culture where team members are recognized and respected, included and supported. The projects we deliver contribute to our communities and the environment around us, and we believe our business must do the same.

USA Civil

Skanska USA Civil's D&I strategy emphasizes the transition of implementing structural elements to cultivating behavioral elements. Currently, their program is composed of four facets: the workforce, the organization, people programs and communication.

USA Commercial Development

Skanska USA Commercial Development’s D&I strategy relies on five focus areas: workplace, marketplace, workforce, community and infrastructure. This includes ensuring diversity in supplies, marketing and products to clients, as well as building a diverse talent pipeline.
