In a joint venture, Skanska is providing CM/GC services for the 860,000-SF modernization to ensure sufficient capacity for future passenger demand, world-class customer experience and airport flexibility. The complete remodel of the Terminal Core includes the installation of a new 9-acre, large-span, mass timber roofing system over the entire terminal core complex, building a 150-foot multifloor addition between Concourses C and D and adding new pre- and post-security concessions. The renovated passenger entry terminal will double the size of the current ticketing and lobby area.
The scope of work also includes seismic resiliency upgrades and replacement of aging systems and infrastructure. All construction is being phased to maintain continuous 24/7 operations and uninterrupted service. The project is targeting LEED Gold certification.
