Prefabricated Modular Skids

PCI Skanska built its’ first prefabricated modular skid in 2003. Today we continue to maximize design concepts and offerings, and improve capacity, delivery times and quality. Our goal is to leverage our engineering capabilities, procurement services and affiliation with inner company fabrication and construction divisions to provide our clients with a value-added solution that meets their project needs.

Typically each unit is customized to the intended application. Design applications range from:

  • Electrical substations:
  • Transformers
  • Voltage regulation
  • Switchgear
  • Power factor correction
  • Communications equipment
  • Back-up power generation
  • Modular enclosures/buildings
  • Switchgear
  • Motor Control Centers (MCC)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
  • Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)
  • HVAC
  • Fire suppression systems
  • Maintenance/access platforms
  • Packaged mechanical equipment:
  • Pumps
  • Filters/conditioning equipment

Benefits
Some of the benefits to consider when using a prefabricated modular skid solution include:

  • Custom solutions and offerings over traditional engineering and construction activities
  • Fully coordinated design process
  • Repeatability
  • Typically provides an overall gain to the project schedule
  • Controlled fabrication and construction environments, thus reducing items associated with the schedule and workplace safety
  • Reduced on-site installation complexity
  • Pre-shipment acceptance testing
  • Logistics coordination:
  • Pre-shipment loading
  • Dock-to-site logistics
  • Post-shipment unloading
