Mike McNally sits down with The Street

During his recent interview with The Street, Skanska USA President and CEO Mike McNally spoke about how states are finding money for new construction, including by raising funds through public/private partnerships. He also discussed the energy revolution, labor and material costs, construction demand, and Skanska’s backlog and strong U.S. presence.

“We’re building all across the U.S.,” he said. “The transportation business is booming for us in our sectors right now, but the building sector, non-residentials is also doing very well.”

“I think that this unconventional oil and gas that we’re getting now has greatly suppressed the cost of natural gas and we’re getting calls from many, many manufacturing companies that want to come back to the U.S. – fertilizer plants and steel plants,” he said. “I think that this is going to be a huge wave for the next twenty years.”
