Skanska Workers review DrawingsPreconstruction Services - Skanska takes an integrated approach to preconstruction – allowing seamless transition from design to construction.  We understand that the ultimate goal of any construction project is to deliver a facility that meets the needs of its owners, as well as its end users.  Our comprehensive array of preconstruction expertise allows us to meet a wide range of criteria, from budget and schedule considerations to functional and aesthetic requirements.
We focus on cost management, project planning and facility assessment.

Skanska utilizes the principles of Lean Construction by implementing tools and concepts such as Building Information Modeling for schedule, cost and systems information; co-location of key team members; Target Value Design; and the Last Planner System™ for scheduling.  By facilitating intelligent design decision-making, Skanska is an integral part of successful outcomes for our healthcare clients.

Skanska's Multi-Trade Prefabrication

Multi-Trade Prefabrication™- We have successfully developed and pioneered the multi-trade prefabrication process, which is revamping the entire hospital delivery process as we know it.  Although inherently complex, healthcare projects are well suited for prefabrication. With repetitive patient rooms and corridor layouts, our innovative process parallels the construction of the building structure with multiple building components, such as vertical and horizontal mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) systems, patient rooms, bathrooms, clinical spaces and building envelope systems, in a temperature-controlled environment.  Skanska manages the entire process, utilizing local subcontractors, which not only ensures the highest levels of quality, but also benefits the local community.

Mission Critical - The Skanska Mission Critical team is dynamically changing the way data centers are planned, designed, financed, optimized and operated.  Our strategies and tools provide the following benefits:

• Lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
• Guaranteed energy performance
• Optimum systems reliability
• Green footprint - lowest  energy footprint, water consumption  and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE)
• Innovative IT tools - Data Center Intelligence Platform (DCIP)

We understand that healthcare providers are challenged with meeting the legislative mandates of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) reforms.  Our team offers a customized, scalable, “just-in-time” approach to improving your IT infrastructure and data center facilities, allowing you to add capacity as needed without unnecessarily diverting funds from your core business. Our forward-thinking strategies and tools allow you to meet the new requirements while developing a platform for continued, sustainable growth.
