Skanska is committed to giving back to the communities in which we operate. Our employees reach out and make a difference by actively contributing their time and expertise in activities that support a broad range of educational, charitable and philanthropic endeavors. We continually look for new opportunities to bring our mentoring abilities to local youth and businesses.
We work with local minority, women and small contracting enterprises to familiarize them with various business management tools helping to enhance their technical, administrative and managerial skills within the construction industry. Our commitment to mentoring also extends to the youth community by preparing them to be responsible adults and assisting them in achieving their future goals.
Some of the initiatives in which we’ve been involved are Construction Management Building Blocks (a Skanska designed training program), Big Brothers, Big Sisters of New York City Mentoring Program, Port Authority of NY & NJ Construction Mentor Program, New York City School Construction Authority Mentor Program, Exploring Program, City Harvest of New York, ACE Mentor Program and JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge.
