A key aspect of Skanska’s culture is our practice of giving back to the communities in which we work and live. Locally, our team members contribute meaningful service and stewardship to a number of programs, including:

  • ACE Mentor Program
  • St. Luke’s Community House
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Nashville Chamber of Commerce
  • Cumberland River Compact
  • Safe Haven Family Shelter
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Urban Land Institute (ULI)
  • YWCA
  • Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt
  • Nashville Downtown Partnership
  • U.S. Green Building Council
  • Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee
  • Nashville Civic Design Center
  • Josie Mazzo Children’s Charities§ Conexion Americas
  • Futuro
  • AIM HIGH Program
  • Nashville YMCA Latino Achievers
  • Cane Ridge High School’s Academy of Architecture and Construction

Another key community outreach effort is engaging disadvantaged businesses on our local projects. Our Nashville office started Skanska’s Diversity and Inclusion Program in 2002. Today, our program has evolved as a corporate core value with dedicated Diversity and Inclusion employees and initiatives across the country.

The value that we bring to the city of Nashville is much more than our knowledge or years of experience. To us, it’s the deeper understanding that the construction of our projects is as much about the community as the building itself; we understand that it’s about supporting Nashville's workforce development program and upholding a mission to deliver excellence in diversity and inclusion at all times.
