Bayshore as a company donated over $10,000 in 2008 to various community programs including the Volunteer Fire Department, Library, Community Park, Hospice, Little League, Shore Memorial Hospital and the Eastern Shore Community College. And we have sent supplies to the local elementary and high schools. BCP has a long standing reputation on the Eastern Shore as a generous contributor to local associations and programs.
BCP raised $40,000 in the 2008 United Way Campaign and expects to raise over $20,000 in the 2009 campaign. A majority of BCP’s employees at the Cape Charles, Virginia plant make regular contributions to the United Way. Over the year these contributions add up and have had a direct effect on the community; providing emergency food and shelter, and also assisting multiple youth development and recreational programs.
Blood Drives in conjunction with the American Red Cross are held twice a year at Bayshore with an average of 35 pints of blood donated per drive. Each pint of blood donated can save 3 lives – the BCP team has the potential to save over 100 lives for the efforts of only one day. We look forward to the next successful blood drive.
BCP employees participate in an annual “Christmas Angels” program, donating gifts for children and teenagers to local families. 100% of BCP’s office employees participated in this event in 2008 donating over 100 items.
