What do you like most about working at Skanska?
I like working at Skanska because of all of the unique opportunities I’ve had over the last 5 years. I’ve been able to meet, work with and learn from all different types of people from our jobsites and in the office. Every day my knowledge of the construction industry grows and has helped me experience NYC in ways that most New Yorkers will never get to encounter.
What has been your favorite Skanska project thus far and why?
The reconstruction of the World Trade Center site is definitely my favorite project Skanska has had a role in. Since I was a kid I was always intrigued by the two giant towers that dominated the New York skyline for as long as I could remember. The idea of the towers even helped me to work towards my goal of becoming an architect. Working at Skanska has given me the privilege to bid on a number of different WTC contracts, work on-site and experience all of the planning that goes into a NYC mega-project. Now every chance I get, I take a trip down to the construction site and remember that I am one of the few who helped to rebuild my favorite NYC site.
What do you like best about the Skanska culture?
The Skanska culture is one of the best in the industry because every employee is focused on getting their job done in the safest and most efficient way they can. We continually stress the importance of our Five Zeros and other values to other contractors and move towards every goal as a considerate and responsible team.
