Building Better Communities
To be a great builder or developer, you must connect with the communities in which you work. Skanska strives to not only deliver world class projects but also provide opportunities for people to grow and thrive through these opportunities. Below are a few examples of programs that have been developed by Skanska employees and through our partnerships that are making a positive impact in communities across the U.S.
BOOST is a 10-week educational program on the West Coast for DBEs in the construction industry that addresses the most common challenges for subcontractors. Teams work together to find solutions on how to avoid these issues and build stronger businesses.
Community Advisory Teams
The Community Advisory Team (CAT) concept was created to connect communities with job opportunities in historically under-utilized neighborhoods.
Construction Management Building Blocks
The Construction Management Building Blocks Training Program is designed to introduce and familiarize emerging businesses with business management tools necessary for success and growth. This program is uniquely designed to enhance the technical, administrative and managerial skills of these companies. A specialized Healthcare Building Blocks program curriculum is also available.
Participants enrolled in the program gain construction industry insights and learn about meaningful tools and strategies shared by our own employees. An additional benefit of enrollment is the opportunity to develop new strategic business relationships.
